Your Twitter profile is your building block, and it must present you in the best light.  It should match your website, blog and any other online tool that you use to market.  When you present the same colors, etc., you display an image or a brand that people will recognize.  Your Twitter username should accurately reflect your business and should be search engine optimized for best performance.  If you are unable to use your exact business name, choose something similar. Your profile photo and header should also represent your brand. Writing tightly and succinctly is essential.

  1. Include Links With Your Tweets

When you are marketing on Twitter, it’s imperative that you include links in your tweets to direct readers where you want them to click.  The links can go to your website, blog, a video, etc. The goal is to get potential customers to click your links to get them closer to conversion or becoming paying customers.  Be sure to place your links at the end of your tweets to encourage retweets.  You can use a link shortener, such as Bitly, to make your links look better and fit better within your tweets.

  1. Use “Please Retweet” or Use the Initials “RT”

You can add videos as well. However, you must link to them from a service such as YouTube.  You cannot add them directly to Twitter.
